The purpose of the service is evaluate the effectiveness of the state management in the field of environmental protection for the period of 2000-2010 according to the indicators of the effectiveness of the Strategy in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On the main principles (strategy) of the state environmental policy of Ukraine for the period up to 2020”.
The Law of Ukraine “On the Basic Principles (Strategy) of the State Environmental Policy of Ukraine for the Period until 2020” approved 78 indicators of the effectiveness of the Strategy implementation on 7 strategic goals.
The Ministry of Environmental Protection should evaluate and monitor implementation and prepare an annual report on the implementation of the State Environmental Policy Strategy, detailing achievements in the field of environmental protection and implementation of the state environmental policy for all purposes. The report should reflect qualitative and quantitative changes to all the performance indicators of the Strategy compared to the base year 2010.
